Question by Waffle: What does the term “track record” mean when referring to the Fed’s monetary policy?
I am doing economics homework and the question is “Discuss the Fed’s monetary tool. What is their importance? Why does the Fed adjust the money supply? What is their track record?”
But I don’t know what it means by that last part. What is a track record?

Same thing it means when it refers to a horse or jockey. What’s its “win-loss” record? In this context you are being asked to opine on how well the Fed has done over time against its objectives.
