US government department of public records contain all information in the form of data, documents, photos, videos and newsreels that have come into existence during the years the government was running.  As citizens have to disclose personal and all other information, government public records is a database pool of US citizens. It is not only their name and address, but social security number, important events in their lives like birth, marriage, deaths, driving license and also details about their becoming US citizens.

Details in US government public records department also include crime statistics, inmates’ database, court cases and rulings that may be required by people wanting to do background checks on other individuals. But federal states have certain restrictions on the information from government public records that can be made available to the public. In Atlanta, information on scientists involved in critical research areas are not accessible to the public.

default Department of public records is a Treasure Trove

Personal information like names, addresses and contact numbers of court officials involved in cases that require secrecy from the public or those involved in carrying on an on going investigation are not made available to the public for security reasons.

NARA, or the National Archives and Records Administration, preserve US government public records that have been constructed over the years the US government has run. It is common that people usually confuse NARA with holding and only being involved in the safe keeping of documents like the Bill of Rights, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. According to NARA, the volume of the information is so large that if the US government records as kept in the pages are laid side by side, they could easily circle the globe 57 times.

So much is the volume of printed documents, video tapes, films, photographs and other data collected over the years that only a small fraction could be digitalized and made available online as US government public records available for viewing online. Other places where the US department of public records database can be accessed are online sites that are virtually free directories containing information ranging from sex offenders to birth, death, marriage and driving license records. It is not only about the functioning of the government and documents like the surrender of the Japanese during World War II and about other important events in the course of the US government’s functioning, but US government department of public records is a treasure trove of information.
