Are there any city government records (in USA) that contain a listing of all the apartments in the city?
I am searching for another apartment to move to, but I don’t want to miss out on a good apartment complex that I didn’t know about….if they are not well advertised.
I am hoping that maybe all apartment complexes have to register with some particular part of the city government…and that hopefully I could look at the list of all of them!
your best bet is to go to the city clerk or the chamber of commerce in your town. usually one or the other has listings of rentals

There are some cities that have ordinances for rent control, and the city or county would keep records of those apartments subject to rent control with the agency that deals with that subject. But be aware that not all apartments are subject to rent control, depending on the law. Check with the city or county that you are interested in. I am not aware of any cities that have a single database of all housing in the city.

I would try the yellow pages.
Seriously, look up apartment complexes, and it should list all of them alphabetically in your city, as well as surrounding cities. This is the only place I can think of that would have them all together. They will all be listed, because they need phones to conduct their business, correct?
