are court records considered part of the public record?
I need to retrieve the court records of a previous conviction in Illinois that occured 10 years ago. How can I get them, are they available on the internet?
You usually have to go to the courthouse and pick them up or send a letter requesting your record with specific info (case number, name, dob, ssn) with a check of usually 5 bucks.

They are public records. They may or may not be on the net; contact the courthouse to find out how to access them on line ( if this is possible) or how to get copies.
