Can the government get access to my mental records?
I really want to go into the Air Force, the only thing really holding me back from at least attempting to join is the $167 fee I would have to pay to get my hands on my mental health records. I need those before I can go to MEPS, but my family can’t afford it by a long shot.
Can the government somehow gain access to them so I don’t have to give up before I even try?
As a Recruiter I have dealt with this in the past. Some places charge for med records, usually only about $25 or so. If the treatment was a while back the doctors office will probably have them achieved in some medical records storage facility. Many doctors/hospitals use these storage facilities because they do want to use up the space in their own offices for years and years of records for many many patients. Usually you are paying the records facility to search for and make a copy of your records.
Some places will onlhy release info to the patients, eevn if they will release to the Recruiter they still want to be paid, they don’t work for free.

Does the government have the right to order private internet companies to provide user’s search records?
Lately both Yahoo and Google where served a court ordered to hand over to the government some search records regarding porn
The difference here is that the government is asking a third party to show your own records.
It is not the same case when they come and ask you personal info that you hold.
When I put my data in a third party, I trust that it is well guarded. When someone can get access to my stored record, it might cause me not to use that place again. In this case, Yahoo and Google might suffer user lost because it might seems as they have betrayed them by failing to protect their data.
Some good answers here. I’ll take a stab at it myself, though I don’t know anything about the incidents other than what the original poster included in his question.
First, we’re talking about illegal pornography. "Regular" porn, the kind that isn’t illegal depending on whoever’s standards we’re using, isn’t going to be subject to a search warrant because it isn’t a crime…and search warrants can only be issued when they seek to provide evidence of a public offense (a crime). So whatever porn we’re talking about, it’s evidently illegal according to whatever legal standard is being used (and this varies, but things like kiddy porn are illegal everywhere in the US). Once the illegality has been established, then I don’t think there’s much left to talk about…you cannot hide behind a right to privacy if you are engaging in criminal behavior. That’s not to say you give up your right to privacy, it’s to say that if you’re engaging in criminal acts, the government has the right to ask a judge for a search warrant to gather evidence of those acts, and I would argue that you cannot complain about your privacy being "invaded" when they do.
And a word about search warrants; they are not rubber-stamped documents that sail through the justice system to your front door. Law enforcement agents must prepare an application for them, outlining reasons to believe a particular place holds evidence of a particular crime. They must swear the things they’ve said in that document are true, and then they must present the document to a neutral party – a magistrate (or a judge). That magistrate (or judge) then reviews the information provided by the agent, and decides on his/her own if there is a more than likely chance (i.e., "probable cause") that the things the agents are looking for are in the places the agents say they are. Despite the rare news to the contrary, magistrates and law enforcement alike take this process seriously.
About the "third party" argument made by the original poster: again – if you’re engaging in criminal behavior, you cannot expect to hide behind the right to privacy just because you’ve given the evidence of your guilt to a third party. The government has the right under our system of law to gather evidence of your criminal behavior, no matter where you have left it.
If you want to deliver evidence of your involvement in criminal acts to a third party, press on…and you do so at your own risk, obviously. The original poster’s comment is well taken; if your third party is going to comply with an order of a court to disclose certain information relative to criminal acts, then perhaps you need to find another third party – one who will become a criminal themselves if they fail to comply with a lawful court order.
Yahoo and Google have not betrayed anyone’s trust…although it’s been a while since I’ve seen them, I’m fairly certain both corporations have privacy policies, and I’m equally certain both of them talk about safeguarding your information except when ordered to release it pursuant to a court order. If the third party thing bothers you, don’t use a third party…there’s a saying: "three can keep a secret, if two are dead."
Don’t want anybody to know what you’re doing? Don’t tell anybody.
What do you think about "trusting" the government with our Medical Records?
Pres Hussein and his Democrats put a little "Universal Health Care Plan" to ride "piggy-back" on their current "Bailout #2" bill. The bill calls for encrypting a persons medical records and for these records to be accessible to some type of "Health Czar" who will be working for the Health and Human Services department.
So would you trust our government with your health records or do you consider the measure an over-reaching invasion of your privacy?
Invasion of my privacy. It is none of the governments or anyone else’s business what my medical history is.
Should the government have the right to access everyone’s medical records?
There are calls to computerize everyone’s health records and allow the government to track treatments to determine which courses of action are most "efficient." Should this practice be allowed? Should people be allowed to opt out? Would this violate the "right to privacy" many claim is part of the Constitution?
Would abortion be included?
No, I don’t think the government should have the right to access everyone’s medical records because no one person or entity is in a position to guarantee it’s security or prevent it’s abuse.
Can the government access my medical records without my permission?
If I’m applying for a federal job, can the government access my medical records? I read on multiple websites that the government cannot access my records unless I sign a consent waiver. Does anyone have a website that explicitly states whether they can.
Of course. And they can leak them to the press to.

They are free to abuse power with little or no consequences.
Why is the government getting involved with automation of our healthcare records?
Even if it is a good idea, why is government interfering in a private industry. The freemarket will reward companies that utilise electronic records by inproved efficiencies and reduced costs. The freemarket would also penalise those that do not in increased costs for records management. Will the government force you to electronically balance your checkbook next in order to make you operate more efficiently in your private life?
For real, Obama (and his staff) are looking and acting more socialist everyday. Its even Blatant in some ways. I cant believe the American people are letting this happen. Its craziness its injustice. The Government is meant to protect us and ensure domestic tranquility not make sure our health care is operating more efficiently. I say if we want our economy better and we want our government out of debt they should get out of business affairs (stop being socialist) and get back to the constitution, stop the gangsters in the streets (American terrorist) and spend there money and time on the war the beauty of capitalism is that it is self repairing… unless the government continues to hurt it.
has anyone purchased the vip government-records package and not satisfied?
did you find more charges for its use and also having to buy more credits when they are used up? did it appear not to be what you originally read when you ordered it? did you find zero information in many areas of interest? I’m very dissatisfied and frustrated with this program. I sent two request to there support desk for assistance with no response. looking forward to your response.
My husband has had chronic shin splits/stress fractures for over … has anyone purchased the vip government-records package and not satisfied…
